Getting your life back together after your truck accident

Longtime readers may remember an article posted on our internet blog about a truck driver who caused a fatal accident while distracted by his cellphone. That accident occurred last August along the New Jersey Turnpike after the distracted driver plowed into the back of a row of cars that had come to a stop.

The victim was a 43-year-old father of two daughters. He was also musician and a teacher. Imagine the anguish that victim's family had to endure in the first few days after the accident. It's likely the last thing that they wanted to worry about was how they were going to afford an attorney to represent them in court.

Prospective clients should know that our law firm operates solely on a contingency fee basis. That's a fancy way of saying that clients pay us nothing until we make a favorable settlement on their behalf. The reason why that is so important is because developing a lawsuit against a negligent truck driver can be difficult and costly. That's primarily because these types of lawsuits usually also target the driver's trucking company as well as their insurers. All three of those parties will usually offer some form of defense against claims.

This means that sometimes, victims due to hire experts to prepare crash scene analysis or to inspect and review evidence taken from the crash scene. There may also be a need to demand records from opposing parties or interview witnesses and compile their statements.

Truck accident victims shouldn't have to shoulder the added responsibilities of preparing their cases. They already have enough on their plates. In the immediate aftermath of the truck crash, most victims and surviving family members are busy either dealing with the loss of their loved ones or recovering from their injuries.

Our law firm allows truck accident victims to begin the process of getting their lives back in order instead of having to worry about legal matters. The attorneys at our law practice represent over 150 combined years of legal experience. We currently take on clients throughout Hudson and Bergen counties, and throughout the greater New Jersey region.
